Help a Kid (teen) To Camp !

Our Youth Group Teens have 2 opportunities to go to SUMMER CAMP this year!

The Senior High is transitioning to a ‘full service’ camp this year!! So exciting! It is through Elevate Worldwide, Inc and the camp facility is Lassen Pines Christian Camp in California, near Redding. Their camp is July 8 – 14.

The Junior High will be heading to Camp Kellogg ~ our Nazarene Camp, south of Eugene, Or. Their Camp is August 6 -10.

If you have ever been to summer camp I’m sure you remember the fun, the memories, the impact worshiping with other youth, encountering God, and just plain having a blast that is camp.

We have at least 10 Sr High kids that want to attend camp ~ They are planning a Muffin & Bottled Water sale during the Strawberry Festival Parade this coming Saturday – June 2nd. They will be set up at RiteAid.

They are also planning a Car Wash the 9th of June at Walgreens and a Yard Sale ( inside gym) here at the church on the 15th and 16th of June.

They can use Your support at all of these events!

” And surely I am with you always…”

Today I worked on the LebNaz ‘Watchman’s Wall’. As I read through our prayer needs I was thinking about how long we have been praying for some of the people and situations on our list. There are some serious troubles represented by those requests on our list.

God tells us in John 16:33 that trouble will come. ” I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace, In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  I love that reminder : “take heart! I have overcome the world.”

There are times that God will deliver us from a trial, but there are also times that he simply walks with us through the trial. Isaiah 41:10 ” So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you ; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Trusting God to strengthen and uphold you means you don’t have to worry about what is ahead, you don’t have to let those trials overwhelm you because He promises He will strengthen you and uphold you. He is the God of the universe and He cares about you! He promises to always be with you!

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Worry about Nothing – Pray about Everything.

Matthew 6:25-32 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Economic stress, job layoffs, worldwide tensions, high energy costs…. Is there reason to be worried? Jesus isn’t worried! And he tells us in Matthew 6 that we should not worry either. Don’t worry doesn’t mean don’t plan or don’t be concerned. It does mean that we can trust Him – we can take those ‘worries’ and concerns to Him and leave them there because ” your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” v.32

God gives us grace and strength for each day as we seek His righteousness and His Kingdom. Trust Him and see!

Now don’t tell my daughter… but my almost 2 year old grandson loves to jump on the bed – and then off! He will jump and jump and then look me in the eye and say, “dach” and throw himself into my arms. He trusts that I will catch him and I haven’t dropped a grandchild yet! He has faith in me – Likewise – you can have faith in God and trust His ability to catch you and meet your needs!Seek Him .
