Psalm 139

¹ You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
² You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
³ You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
⁴ Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
⁵ You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me

I think Psalm 139 is one of the most comforting yet humbling passages I’ve read recently. God knows my every thought, every action and knows my heart – He even knows the tendencies of my heart or my words before I even say them! He is at once going ahead of me , yet also behind me ! If you read further, v.6 says ” Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know.!” David can hardly ‘get his head around it –  It’s so amazing and powerful and yet humbling to know that God is caring for me that much. The All Powerful, All Knowing God knows me and is always with me.
