We are heading toward the celebration of one of the greatest days on earth and in heaven – EASTER. Jesus our Savior conquered sin and death; purchased our salvation; now for all who believe we may live in an ever growing relationship with an awesome holy God!!!
For all who trust in Jesus for salvation we have been justified by faith. We have been saved by grace, not by works that any of us could boast that we’ve done it on our own.
Even with this great knowledge of God’s incredible love for us and what He has done, too many still fall into an empty religion that is mechanical and spiritless, that just goes through the motions. They go to church once a month or so, read the Bible from time to time, pray when desperate, never really fully appreciating God’s love and sacrifice for them personally and so this religious attempt is somehow exercised without a transformation of the moral life where Jesus truly becomes Lord of one’s life. Seemingly, Christ is `received’ without creating any special love for Him in the soul of the receiver. The man is `saved,’ but he is neither hungry nor thirsty for God. In fact he is satisfied to be content with this little taste of religion instead of the satisfying love relationship with the Awesome Creator, Sustainer, and Savior God.
How can this be? As we read the Scriptures that walk along with Jesus to the cross, His resurrection, and the giving of His Holy Spirit that indwells us, we should celebrate with great affection in response to His great love for us!
Take time to stop and think about what God has done for you and how He has expressed His love through His life, death and resurrection, that He might have a relationship with you!
Deepen your love for Jesus this Lenten Season with us through Ashes to Fire and join us Easter Sunday for a GREAT CELEBRATION of God’s love for us and our love for Him!
