Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and a day of fasting which begins 40 days of worship preparation for Easter.
It occurs 46 days before Easter. Ash Wednesday derives it’s name from the practice of ashes, made from palm branches from the previous years’ Palm Sunday , placed on the foreheads of participants to the accompaniment of the words, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or” Remember that you are dust , and to dust you shall return.”
We will be meeting at the LebNaz church for an Ash Wednesday service, February 10 at 7:00 om. We hope that you will join us.
